This time something for pike fly fishing. Why popper fly, appreciated in the west countries and so underestimated in our country?
The answer is the pike attacking the surface fly, something that cannot be forgotten. If, in addition, we have a shallow fishery within our reach, it is a good idea to have a few such flies in a box.
The body in this pattern is made of deer belly hair, which is thicker and more buoyant than the one we most often use, e.g. for tying muddlers heads. The buoyancy of such a fly is limited, after all, it is not foam.
However, you can buy specially profiled ready-to-use heads made of well-buoyant materials that you only need to paint.
Materials:
Hook: streamer nr 2
Tail: Wapsi Strung Rooster Saddle – olive + pearl Krystal Flash
Hackle: Wapsi Strung Rooster Saddle – orange
Head: der belly hair dyed chartreuse + colourful waterproof markers
