The brown mayfly is my basic dry fly after the olive and gray imitation of this type. With these three basic colors, we can handle most spring situations.
In this dry fly pattern, the tail was tied from the Coq de Loen rooster feather.
How few of them are the best for tails. They are durable, naturally mottled and very long, thanks to which we can easily tie tails in the largest patterns of mayflies.
